What to expect at our Open Day
Set within 500 acres of rolling Yorkshire pasture and arable farmland, Woolas Barn lies at the very heart of the estate. More than just a working farm, it has been our family home for three generations.
Our Open Day gives you the opportunity to see the venue and grounds to see how your wedding could look, before booking your dream day. As well as your personalised tour with one of our team members, you’ll get the chance to meet our recommended suppliers, ask them questions and understand everything they can deliver to make your dream day unforgettable.
We have a limited number of spaces so encourage you to reserve your place as soon as possible and look forward to welcoming you to Woolas Barn.

Our Four Seamlessly Linked Areas
The Stables
This distinctive space was once home to the farm’s working horses. Thoughtfully restored, it has been transformed into a beautifully elegant Ceremony Room. With its original, characterful timbers and exposed brickwork softly lit, it now provides a truly special setting for the most meaningful moments of your day.
The Granary
Built in 1863, the Granary is the oldest part of Woolas Barn and the social heart of the venue. With its original barn doors and striking double-height entrance, it makes an impressive first impression. Inside, you’ll find a rustic bar and reception space, along with plenty of room to take to the floor once the music begins. Upstairs, two cosy snugs offer the perfect spot to catch up with old friends over a cocktail or two.
The Lambing Shed
Once used to nurse newborn lambs, this space has been beautifully reimagined. Today, the Lambing Shed features a striking vaulted ceiling and glass doors that open out to views across the Courtyard and beyond. With traditional Yorkshire boarding and exposed brickwork throughout, it offers a perfect balance of rustic charm and natural warmth, comfortably accommodating up to 120 of your closest friends and family for dining.
The Courtyard
A spacious outdoor setting with sweeping easterly views across the fields towards the historic city of York. Ideal for gathering around the firepit to toast marshmallows as the sun sets, or simply taking a moment to soak up the peace and beauty of the Yorkshire countryside.
